The Students’ Urban Agriculture- Dr. Kevin Froner

We are privileged to place the spotlight on Dr. Kevin Froner, who has won numerous awards as principal of Manhattan Hunter Science High School, one of the top public high schools in America.

In this conversation with Dr. Terryl Mackey, Dr. Froner discusses how the students have prioritized their own health through personal hydration and healthy foods grown in their own urban hydroponic farm at the school.

Here is an article titled “Teens for Food Justice Launch Latest Farm Set to Grow 10,000 Pounds of Produce a Year” discusses in more detail the hydroponics at the school.

Within the article are links to Teens for Food Justice and the Whole Kids Foundation that partnered with the students.
